Fifteen

Taylor Swift has a video called “Fifteen”.  I was channel surfing one Saturday morning and came across her video.  It had me engaged; I totally zoned out for a good 5 minutes as I watched, because I’ve never heard of this song.

 The video depicts a story about a girl starting her first year of high school, and embarking into unfamiliar territory; saying hi timidly to familiar faces from middle school and walking past your first high school boy crush.

The video also goes on to delivers a great message; that at 15, the many feelings you experience during this very delicate age is critical; but the feelings that you are experiencing are only temporal.

I remember when I was 15 and I had liked this person name Adrian.  I remember how I thought the sun rose and shined whenever I saw him.  I also vividly remember my mother telling me that what I was experiencing was only “puppy love”; and of course, I did not agree.

However, looking back it brings a smile to my face, because she was absolutely right.

For all of you young people that feel that you are in love at 15 ~ please take a look at this video and listen to the words carefully. 

Because with experience comes maturity…
